Phyllis E. Frank began her career in public accounting with Given & Company in 1978 and brings many years of experience to clients in planning and compliance in tax and accounting and auditing of high net worth individuals, small to medium-sized closely-owned businesses, trusts and estates. She has extensive experience and expertise in the construction industry (accounting systems, project management, financial reporting and tax issues) and other experience with retail, manufacturing and pension plan clients. She has represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the California Franchise Tax Board, as well as other taxing authorities.
In 1987 Phyllis left Given & Company and public accounting and joined Al Frank Asset Management, Inc. (AFAMI) as a Vice President. At AFAMI she gained knowledge and experience in the investment advisory and newsletter publishing fields. During this time she passed the NASD Series 2 and Series 63 Exams. In 1990, she returned to Given & Company. Her experience at AFAMI allows her a unique perspective and insight when consulting with clients on investment matters.
Memberships and affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA), the Cal Poly Alumni Association and the UCLA Alumni Association.
Phyllis has a BS degree in Business Administration, with an accounting concentration, from California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo and keeps current with continuing education courses from UCLA, California CPA Education Foundation, the AICPA and others.
Phyllis has served on the education committee of the Los Angeles Chapter of the CSCPA. She is also an active volunteer at her children’s school, working on the annual fund campaign and involved with the audit and investment advisory committees of the board of trustees, as well as serving in other parent leadership positions.
